When We See Christ (It will be worth it all)

Esther Kerr Rusthoi (1909–1962) was an American hymn writer best remembered for her comforting and faith-filled gospel song texts. Although relatively little detailed biographical information is widely recorded about her life, her influence endures through the popularity of her hymns, especially in evangelical and revival traditions.

Rusthoi is most widely known for writing the hymn “It Will Be Worth It All When We See Jesus,” whose opening line, “Oft times the day seems long, our trials hard to bear,” has brought encouragement to many believers facing hardship. The hymn reflects themes of perseverance, hope, and the promise of eternal joy, emphasizing that present suffering will be outweighed by future glory in Christ.
