"Almighty God, in humble prayer" is a hymn for wisdom composed by James Montgomery, titled "Solomon's Prayer for Wisdom." It was first published in his Christian Psalmist (1825, No. 498) in six four-line stanzas and later reprinted unaltered in Original Hymns (1853, No. 70).

In modern hymnals, the text is frequently presented in an abbreviated form, appearing in collections such as J. Warner Windle's Metrical Psalter & Hymnal and Edward Harland's Church Psalter.
