"Again our ears have heard the voice" is a short nineteenth-century hymn written for the close of Divine Service by the poet and hymnwriter James Montgomery.
Composed in two stanzas, the hymn was first published in Montgomery's The Christian Psalmist (1825, No. 472). It was later included in his collected volume, Original Hymns (1853, No. 354).
The text entered early hymnal usage through its inclusion in Edward Bickersteth's Christian Psalmody (1833), though its adoption in subsequent collections remained very limited.
