"All yesterday is gone" is an anonymous invitation hymn written in three four-line stanzas. Presenting a direct appeal to accept salvation, the text appeared in several English hymnals in the early nineteenth century, including Josiah Pratt's Collection (1829).

Through Pratt's compilation, the hymn passed into American collections, where it achieved considerable popularity. Its use in Great Britain remained relatively limited.
