Ave Jesu, Qui maetaris. Anon. [Good Friday.] Text in the Paradisus animae Christianae of J. M. Horst, section vi. "De vita et passione Domini," end of chapter iv. (edition Cologne, 1630, p. 418). It is a hymn on the Seven Words uttered by Christ on the Cross.

Translation in Common Use:
Jesus, hail! Who, as Thou bleedest. By E. B. Pusey. Appeared in 1848 in vol. ii. of his translation of the Paradise of the Christian Soul, and from thence it passed into the Appendix to the Hymnal Noted, 2nd edition, 1864, No. 248.
