Ave Jesu! Ere we part. C. H. Bateman. [Children's Evening Hymn.] Appeared in the Bible Class Magazine, 1849, in 2 stanzas of 11 lines. In many collections, including Stevenson's Hymns for Church & Home, 1873, c. 13, a short hymn of 4 stanzas of 4 lines, "Blessed Jesus, ere we part," has been compiled with alterations from this text.
