Author of faith, on me confer. C. Wesley. [Faith.] From his Hymns on the Four Gospels, MS. dated 1765, and first published in the Poetical Works, 1868-72, vol. x. p. 310, and from thence was transferred to the revised edition of the Wesleyan Hymn Book, 1875, No. 805, the third stanza being omitted. It is based on St. Matthew 17:20, "If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed," etc.
