"All glory to God in the sky" is a Christmas hymn written by Charles Wesley. It was first published in 1744 as entry number eighteen in his collection Hymns for the Nativity of our Lord, consisting of five eight-line stanzas.
In 1780, John Wesley included the complete text in the Wesleyan Hymn Book (No. 211), and it remained a staple in subsequent editions of the hymnal. It was also republished in volume four of The Poetical Works of John and Charles Wesley (1868–1872). While the hymn attained widespread use across Methodist denominations throughout English-speaking nations, it saw limited adoption outside of Methodist communities.
