An anonymous hymn on confidence, this text appeared in volume two (Parts III and IV) of The Sheltering Vine (3rd thousand, 1853), a collection compiled by the Countess of Northesk. A slightly modified version was later included in The Sabbath Hymn Book (New York, 1858, No. 761) and entered various other American collections.
