"Almighty God, the pure and just" is a Lenten hymn written by Edward Osler. It was first published in The Mitre Hymn Book (1836, No. 1) in four four-line stanzas and reissued with slight revisions in Osler's periodical Church and King in July 1837.
Revised versions of the text later appeared in William Cooke and Charles Denton's Hymnal (1853) and R. R. Chope's and B. H. Kennedy's Hymnologia Christiana (1863).
