"All glorious God, what hymns of praise" is an eighteenth-century hymn of praise written by English Nonconformist minister Philip Doddridge. In Doddridge's original manuscript collection, the text is dated December 13, 1736, and bears the heading "Of being prepared for the inheritance of the Saints in light. A song of praise for Col. i. 12."
Composed in five four-line stanzas, the hymn was published posthumously in Job Orton's 1755 edition of Doddridge's works (No. 298). It was later reprinted with minor textual revisions in John Doddridge Humphreys's 1839 collection (No. 324). Although recognized for its poetic quality and devotional merit, the hymn was infrequently included in British hymnals, finding only selective use within nineteenth-century American collections.
