"Again the Church's year hath run its round" is a nineteenth-century Advent hymn written by the Anglican hymnwriter Godfrey Thring.
Composed in 1865, the six-stanza text was first published in Thring's Hymns Congregational, and Others (1866, pp. 5–6) under the title "Advent Hymn." It was subsequently republished in his Hymns and Sacred Lyrics (1874, pp. 26–27) and introduced into various denominational collections. The authorized text appears as No. 102 in Thring's own compilation, A Church Church Hymn Book.
The hymn was specially set to music by the English composer Henry Hugo Pierson, appearing in his Hymn Tunes (2nd Series, 1872).
