About Hillsong Worship

Hillsong Worship is an Australian contemporary Christian praise and worship collective formed in 1983 at Hillsong Church in Sydney, Australia.

Originally known as Hillsong Live, the group adopted the name Hillsong Worship in 2014 to distinguish the ministry from other music expressions associated with Hillsong Church, such as Hillsong United and Hillsong Young & Free.

Hillsong Worship emerged from the worship team of Hillsong Church and consists of a rotating ensemble of vocalists, songwriters, and musicians drawn from the church’s global network of campuses. Notable past contributors have included Darlene Zschech, Geoff Bullock, Marty Sampson, Brooke Fraser, Reuben Morgan, and Joel Houston.

The group has released numerous live and studio albums, many recorded at Hillsong Church campuses. Its catalogue features songs that have achieved widespread use in church worship services internationally. Multiple albums and singles from Hillsong Worship have charted on the Billboard Christian Albums and Billboard 200 charts, and several have reached high positions on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart.

Among the songs most frequently associated with Hillsong Worship are “What a Beautiful Name,” “Mighty to Save,” “Hosanna,” and “Cornerstone.” Several tracks from the collective’s output have become staples in contemporary worship repertoires worldwide.

Hillsong Worship operates within the broader Hillsong Music ministry, which releases annual albums and resources for global church use. Its music has been recorded and distributed through major Christian music labels and is often featured in live worship events and conferences.
